WHY PICK US?

Care that actually understands your dog

Not every dog needs a full training program.
But every dog does need consistency, structure, and someone who gets them.

That’s what I focus on.

  •  I don’t rush dogs or force anything

  •  I adjust based on their personality, energy, and needs

  •  I have real experience with shy, sensitive, and rescue dogs

  •  I show up consistently, so your dog can actually settle and trust the routine

For a lot of dogs, the right walk done the right way can change everything. It doesn’t have to be complicated.

Hi, I’m Rachel

I’m a dog walker, pet sitter, and someone who has always connected deeply with animals.

I started this after moving to California and realizing I wanted something that felt meaningful. Something that actually made a difference in people’s lives and in their dogs’ lives.

I’ve been working with animals for years, from pet sitting growing up to volunteering with rescue dogs here in San Diego.

I’ve always been the person animals gravitate toward, and honestly, I’ve always felt the same about them.

I’m especially drawn to the shy, sensitive, or misunderstood dogs. The ones who just need a little more patience and understanding.

This isn’t just work for me. It’s something I genuinely care about.

THE WHY BEHIND THE BUSINESS

THE WHY BEHIND THE BUSINESS •

Cheers to the dogs who shape our lives

A black background with a white, stylized four-pointed star or cross shape in the center.

This brand was built from real life.

From the dogs who have been there through everything.
From the hard seasons.
From the moments that change you in ways you don’t expect.

It’s inspired by my soul dog Reina, and the dogs I get to work with every day now.

To me, this isn’t just about walks or drop-ins. It’s about showing up for animals in a way that’s calm, consistent, and real.

Because most dogs don’t need something extreme. They just need someone who understands them and shows up.

And sometimes, that kind of support can change more than you think.

Real experiences from dog owners in San Diego

We LOVE Rachel and Hugs!! She is one of the few people we trust with our dog. She sends tons of pictures and updates while we're away, which gives us so much peace of mind. It makes leaving our dog so much easier knowing he's in such good hands. He goes crazy with excitement when we tell him Rachel and Hugs are coming to stay with him :)

We can't recommend her enough!

Rachel is the absolute best dog walker and watcher- she is super responsive, responsible, and we may be in competition with her as our dog's favorite person. Rachel gives great consistent updates on dog walks or watches, including some of the best photos of your pup you'll ever see. Her dog Hugs is best friends with our dog, and has helped our dog with socialization in general. Cannot recommend Cheers to the Dogs enough!!.”

Rachel was recommended to me and l am so grateful to now have her as someone I can rely on to take care of my precious cats. She is a passionate animal advocate, a responsible dog owner herself and a wonderful bundle of sunshine! Your pets are in GREAT care with Rachel. She is timely, communicative, trustworthy and her prices are very fair. So thankful Toast & Butter have her! I always feel relieved when away on trips, knowing my cats are being loved and cared for.
