This business started because of the dogs who shape our lives.


The ones who teach us patience, presence, and how to slow down a little.

Reina was that dog for me, and she’s still a huge part of why I do this.
 And now, Hugs is right there with me every day.

HI, I’M RACHEL

I’m the girl behind Cheers to the Dogs.

I’m a dog walker, pet sitter, and someone who has always connected deeply with animals.

I started this after moving from New Hampshire to California and realizing I wanted something that actually felt fulfilling. Something that felt real.

I’ve been working with animals for years, from pet sitting growing up to volunteering with rescue dogs here in San Diego.

I’ve always been the person animals gravitate toward, and I’ve always felt the same about them. 


Reina shaped so much of that for me, and Hugs continues to be a big part of my day-to-day life with dogs.

THE WAY I WORK


I’m not a traditional dog trainer, and I don’t try to be.

What I do is simple, and for a lot of dogs, it works.

  •  I focus on consistency 

  •  I pay attention to behavior and energy 

  •  I adjust based on the dog in front of me 

  •  I don’t rush or force anything 


Some dogs need structure.
 Some need movement.
 Some just need someone calm and steady.

Most dogs don’t need something extreme. They just need someone who understands them and shows up.

I connect most with dogs that need a little more understanding.

  •  Rescue dogs 

  •  Shy or shutdown dogs 

  •  Dogs who don’t always feel confident 

  •  Dogs who just need time and patience 

I also work with owners who care deeply about their dogs and want to do right by them, even if they don’t always have the time or consistency to do it all on their own.

No judgment. Just support.

This isn’t just a job for me.

Animals have always been my safe place. Through a lot of change and growth in my life, they’ve been the constant.

This business is built on showing up, being present, and caring about the small things that actually make a difference.

OUTSIDE OF WORK
